(2012-02-26) Heads in the cloud, feet on the ground

This is just a short notice that The ERICADE Network has moved into the cloud. The reason was that the hardware was getting old and the cost of having the whole thing into the cloud is pretty much the same as hosting it "at home" in this case.

There was simply no reason putting off what I've thought about to do for the last two years. When I first thought about it in 2010, the costs were still to high for it to be worth the effort. But it sure is viable now that cost of replacing the server is factored in.

On the 16th of February 2012 I toasted in "Rigas Melnias Balzams" (A ghastly conconctation from my family's home town) as I shut the server down for the very last time.
